Council Apprentice
Dr Sejal Patel is an HCPC registered clinical psychologist with an expertise in clinical health psychology and the needs of marginalised groups.
In her previous field of cystic fibrosis, she collaborated nationally and internationally to produce UK guidelines of psychological care as well as education and training modules for a wide range of European health professionals in order to improve the care and treatment of people with this registered disability.
Following 24 years of working in the NHS, Sejal is now in independent practice, focussing on delivering compassionate psychological care and training. The feminist, queer-
positive and anti-racism lens through which she works seeks to directly address systems of bias and/or discrimination in the experience of healthcare.
She has a particular interest in supporting systems to evolve, in order to enhance the quality and experience of healthcare and to improve service delivery for marginalised groups.
