Following a recent review of the composition and remit of the Education and Training Committee (ETC), we have appointed two independent members that bring expertise in educational quality assurance and the experiences of a recently-qualified graduate.
In the second part of our series introducing the new members of our Education and Training Committee, we meet Penny Joyce.
Penny was appointed in February 2018, and is currently an Associate Head (Education) at the University of Portsmouth. She has undertaken a range of quality assurance roles through her career, including QAA reviewer, external examiner, HCPC visitor, professional body reviewer, and an assessor for the TEF subject pilot reviews.
Meet Luke Jenkinson in the March 2018 issue of Education Update; a recently qualified registrant who also joined the ETC.
"I understand the challenges of approval from the education provider perspective having led, supported or chaired a number of events with a range of professional and regulatory bodies.
"My expectations of being a Committee member relate to fundamentally understanding the purpose of the organisation in order to contribute to its strategic direction – ultimately the protection of the public."
