We recently released updates to our standards of proficiency, which come into effect on 1 September 2023.
All HCPC registrants will need to be ready to integrate the new standards into their practice by this date. You can find more information about the changes, and details of each one, on our revisions to the standards pages.
We review our standards on a regular basis to ensure that they remain relevant to current practice. The changes reflect developments in line with feedback from our consultation exercise.
To ensure that registrants are fully supported with the transition we’ll be providing a range of information and content in the weeks leading up to 1 September 2023. This includes webinars, written content, videos and direct email contact with registrants.
#myhcpcstandards is a series of webinars designed to support HCPC registrants in meeting the standards. The sessions cover five key areas in the updated standards:
- Service user engagement – Tuesday 18 April 2023, 13.00-13.45
- Registrants' mental health – Wednesday 03 May 2023, 13.00-13.45
- Equality, diversity and inclusion - Tuesday 23 May 2023, 13.00-13.45
- Leadership – Wednesday 07 June, 2023, 13.00-13.45
- Digital skills and new technologies – Monday 19 June 2023, 13.00-13.45
In these events, HCPC’s professional liaison consultants and policy colleagues will discuss what has changed in each area, along with strategies and resources to help registrants integrate these standards into their practice.
These events are now open for registration. To book a place, select a webinar above and fill out the registration form. You’ll be sent the joining instructions shortly before the event.
The webinars will be recorded, and attendance can count towards your continuing professional development.
