The HCPC student competition has its highest number of entries this year, with a high level of quality noted by the judging panel.

The student competition is open to all students on HCPC-approved programmes in the UK. This year, students were invited to create a learning session exploring the risks and benefits of using social media in your practice as a health and care professional.

The winners were formally awarded their prizes by the HCPC Council today, 5 December 2024. The HCPC’s Council, which consists of 12 members led by the Chair, directs the work of the HCPC. The Council reviewed the winning entries and noted that they tackled this important subject matter excellently.

You can view the three entries on our student hub now. They'll also be shared with other students via their education programme leads.

Robert Stevens and Tesni Davies, Swansea University:

‘Creative use of a PowerPoint and executed well.’ ‘The session was engaging and the audio in the slides worked well. The tone and content of the script made it engaging. I also liked that the narration gave the audience thinking prompts.’ 'Fun, energetic and creative session!'

Natalie Wood, Sophie Ellis, Louis Baxandall and Matthew Baines, National School of Healthcare Science, Sheffield:
