Confidentiality and accountability

You need to make informed and reasonable decisions about your own practice to make sure that you always respect and protect the confidentiality of service users

What we mean by ‘practising your profession’

We have defined ‘practising your profession’ as drawing on your professional skills and knowledge in the course of your work.

What the HCPC is doing to improve sexual safety in health and care

We are calling on employers, managers, education providers, professional bodies and unions to prevent these behaviours from happening, and to encourage greater reporting when they do. As a regulator of 15 different professions, the HCPC has a role to play too.

Historical programmes

You can apply to join the Register if you have completed a programme that was historically approved by our predecessor, the Council for Professions Supplementary to Medicine (CPSM)
