Our guidance

For context, our guidance on conduct and ethics for students says:

2. Communicate appropriately and effectively

"– You should use all forms of communication appropriately and responsibly, including media-sharing networks and social networking sites.

– You should make reasonable checks to ensure information you share is accurate, true, does not mislead the public when sharing information on media-sharing networks and social networking sites."

We recognise that social media provides a useful way of communicating and sharing information with friends, family and colleagues.

Much of this information is in the public domain, therefore students need to consider the appropriate use of these sites.

If you post information on social media, you need to think about whether it is appropriate to share this. This is particularly important if the information is connected to the profession you are studying for.
