UK-wide
The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) guide on data protection
England and Wales
The Information Governance Alliance’s (IGA) Records Management Code of Practice for Health and Social Care 2021.
Section 2 of the Code contains the detailed retention schedules, setting out how long records should be retained, either due to their ongoing administrative value or as a result of statutory requirement.
Scotland
The Scottish Government Records Management Health and Social Care Code of Practice (Scotland) 2020.
Northern Ireland
The Department of Health in Northern Ireland produces a Good Management Good Records resource which includes advice and guidance on records management including a retention and disposal schedule.
